Carolina Cuisine has been featured on Columbia’s local NBC station, WIS TV, on its nightly newscast as well as "Live with Lucas, " part of its early morning news segment. Co-owner Rachel Gause was featured on the local CBS station WLTX for five days in a row for the "Friends @ Five" segment of the nightly news.
Husband-and-wife team Bill and Rachel Gause created Carolina Cuisine in January of 2004 to live out their passion for food and entertaining. It has become known as Columbia, South Carolina's premier catering and event-planning company.
"We have been blessed to have great clients from day one of our business. Our greatest pleasure is having the client and guests say, ‘That was the best event ever!'" said Rachel. The Gauses have more than 25 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.
Bill is a native of Columbia and played basketball at the University of South Carolina. His passion for the entertainment industry began in college and has increasingly grown each passing year. Bill has been involved in every aspect of the restaurant, bar and event-planning industry.
He was the managing partner and "idea man" of one of the most popular restaurant/bars in the historic Vista area in Columbia, Billy G's American Bar and Grill. Bill is always thinking of new ways to enhance our client's experiences. His expertise in all aspects of event planning allows Carolina Cuisine to create innovative events using the client's ideas.
Rachel started in the restaurant business at the age of 15 and was General Manager of Braden's Restaurant and Oyster Bar in Greenville, SC, before moving to Columbia in 1990. She grew up learning how to cook with the best cook she knew, her mom. Rachel's mom will always be her inspiration for her love and passion of cooking and taking care of people. She continued learning secrets and tips from chefs in the restaurants where she worked and managed. Her passion is cooking and making people feel special and loved. Rachel enjoys meeting with the clients and taking care of the event from start to finish. Hosting events can be very stressful for people, and Rachel has a great knack for making clients feel at ease and confident that Carolina Cuisine will meet all of their expectations.
